Asbestos Testing

Asbestos Testing – Sampling and NATA-Accredited Lab Analysis

Not Sure If It Is Asbestos? Get It Tested.

Many older building materials look identical whether or not they contain asbestos. The only way to know for certain is laboratory testing. At ProCheck Services, our licensed asbestos assessors carefully collect samples from suspected asbestos-containing materials in your property and send them to a NATA-accredited laboratory for analysis. You receive a clear, written report confirming whether asbestos is present, what type it is and what the findings mean for your property.

What Does Asbestos Testing Involve?

  • Safe sample collection by a licensed asbestos assessor using approved methods
  • Samples secured and transported to a NATA-accredited laboratory
  • Analysis to identify asbestos type (chrysotile, amosite, crocidolite, etc.)
  • Written report with clear results and their implications
  • Advice on next steps based on what is found

Our inspections include:

We provide:

When Is Standalone Testing Needed?

  • When a specific material has been flagged and you need confirmation before starting work
  • When a tradesperson has raised a concern on site
  • As part of a residential asbestos inspection for purchase, sale or renovation
  • As part of a Division 5 or Division 6 audit
  • When a full audit is not required but a single material needs to be confirmed

Testing as Part of a Full Inspection

In many cases, testing a single sample is just the starting point. If asbestos is confirmed, ProCheck can conduct a full residential inspection or workplace audit to give you a complete picture of your property. If you are also concerned about other hazardous materials such as lead or PCBs, our hazardous materials audit service covers a broader range of substances in a single assessment.

From Testing Through to Clearance

If asbestos is confirmed and removal is carried out by a licensed removalist, ProCheck can then attend as the independent assessor to conduct your asbestos clearance inspection. We can also arrange asbestos air monitoring during the removal process if your project requires it.
